What MPIR means
MPIR stands for Maximum Permissible Interest Rate. In residential aged care, it is used to convert an unpaid accommodation amount into a daily accommodation payment. If a family does not pay the full RAD upfront, the DAP is calculated using the unpaid amount and the applicable MPIR.
What the basic daily care fee means
The basic daily care fee is a daily contribution toward everyday living costs in residential aged care. It is separate from the accommodation payment and from any assessed or optional provider fees that may apply.
